Recently I have came across a couple of friends who are making more than average being self-employed. They are still running their business(s) locally. Now if you think about it, running a business locally, one-person business, can earn above average income, what is the potential if one choose to tap into the Internet?
If you are already running a business online I want to congratulate you because you have a lot of potential to grow. Now if your business is still a local business to your city, I strongly encourage you to think about bringing it online. You don't have to be offering the exact same service. For example, a friend of mine is an investment advisor. He's very talented and still earning money for his clients even during the current global depression. If he brings his business online he can't be offering investment services online since physical one-on-one meetings with the clients is required (for getting signatures at least).
But what if, he offers an investment program online providing continuous economic analysis and investment strategies? Because he already has a list of clients he can easily promote his program to his existing clients and jump start his online investment program. Once when his online reputation builds up he will gain not only potential clients online, but also people in his city seeking investment services from searching on the Internet.
There's always a way to do a business online in the field you specialize. Think hard, work hard, and expect success.
