The top hiring mistakes for business starters

If you run a business, you are probably looking for a way to automate things in the future so you don't have to work as hard but still having the income flowing into your pockets. A one man business (especially home based business(s) or Internet based business(s)) will eventually rent an office space if one is seriously about growing his/her business.

For example, when your business clients grow to a significant level, you'll probably be spending a big chunk of your time doing email communication, assuming you're running an online business. If your business if offline, you'll probably be spending hours on phone calls to communication with your clients, setting up seminars, promoting your products. Why are you doing this when someone else can do it for you for say, for example, $10 USD/hr? Your time is worth much more than that. Therefore, every business is going to need to hire someone to help the business grow while the business owner concentrates on other campaigns that strengthen the potential for the business to grow.

However, when you are looking for someone to hire, look for their characteristics that can be values to your business. Don't hire based on the following:

1. You hire them because you know them - .I'm talking about friends and relatives. Sometimes it is, indeed, hard to reject them when they offer themselves to your business. But you have to keep personal relationships apart from your business and focus on people that can be beneficial to your business

2. Asking someone to be your partner because you can't afford to hire him/her - There could be a lot of potential to your business. For example, if you are running a business that sells a software and you can't afford to pay a programmer to develop the software for you just yet. This may come across your mind: "Hey I can make him as a partner and tell him he can share 49% of the profit so he can develop this program free of charge." What if your software sells for $1million in the near future and you know you could just pay someone $5000 to develop the exact same software? You gave away $485,000 right there because you didn't have the "patience" to gather enough income to hire a programmer to do it for you at the first place.

3. You hire them just to help them out - Empathy does not grow your business. If you really want to help the poor, make your business a success first and make donations to them. Is that more practical?
