Truth About Scams and How Easy It Is To Create Fake Proofs

The "I Make Money by Telling People How to Make Money" scheme is a saturated market full of scammers, especially on the Internet.

I'm not saying making money on the Internet is not possible, but it's definitely not as easy as it sounds. Among the people who are trying to make money on the Internet, only a small portion actually succeeds.

Scammers are experts in creating fake proofs representing false information. This post is not to deliver the message that "all proofs are fake", but to give you a brief idea of how easy it is to create fake proofs.

In here we will use ClickBank as an example.

Step 1. Creating a Fake Website

Here I have spent about 5 minutes saving and tweaking the real ClickBank site to a local folder. I've created:

  • a fake index page,
  • a fake login page,
  • and a fake account statistics page.

Index Page:

When I click on the "Log In" link from the top, it brings me to this page:

I can just type in any password at the login page, it will direct me to this page:

Note the URLs of the pages above; they are all located under a folder called "ClickBank Fake" on my desktop.

Step 2. Creating a Fake URL

The majority of the scammers will leave the URLs out of their screenshots. That, of course, dramatically reduces the "credibility" of the screenshots. People are getting smart enough to realize that screenshots without URLs can be faked easily. (Well, it only took me a couple of minutes to create the screenshots above)

Smarter scammers will create fake website URLs as well. Here is an example of how its done:

  • Download a free web server software, and host the fake website on your own computer. (There are tons of free software(s) that allow you to make your computer become a web server, for any operating system.)

When you have a web server running on your own computer, you should be able to see the fake website by typing in your IP address in the address bar of your web browser, see screenshot below:

Next Step: Edit the Host file to redirect a real domain name to your own web server.

A Host File is what tells your web browser the IP address of the web server for the specific domain name you are trying to connect.

For Windows operating system, the Host file is often located in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc\Hosts

Open the Hosts file with Notepad or Wordpad, and insert the following line (without quotes):

"127.0.0.1        www.clickbank.com"

(127.0.0.1 is the standard IP address used for a loopback network connection. This means that if you try to connect to 127.0.0.1, you are immediately looped back to your own machine.)

Now if you type in "www.clickbank.com" in your web browser, you should be able to see the fake website running locally on your computer...

Step 3. Creating a Fake Video

Obviously, the main benefit for, Step 2 - Creating a Fake URL, is to improve the level of credibility of your "proofs". And there is no better way to "proof" it by creating a video for it!

Scammers can easily create videos showing themselves connecting to the fake "www.clickbank.com" website, logging in, and displaying their fake income.

Anything Is Possible Online...

It will take me no more than 30 minutes to create a fake website, a fake URL, and a fake video showing fake proofs of ClickBank, Google Adsense...etc.

When it comes to the Internet, anything can seen possible in this virtual medium!
